This is a song Maggie wrote because we wanted to do a bluesy tune, but the whole CD was sort of upbeat, so we didn't want to sing a song about cheatin and losing your man and having your heart fall out through your armpit. This is dedicated to Libba Cotton who was an inspiration to Maggie ever since they met in 1977 in Hawaii.

Laugh when the sun won't shine
Girls, when you're young and pretty
Got lot's of boys that's right
But when your hair starts turning,
you'll want a good man to hold you tight.
Oh there's nothing like a good man
and a good man's hard to find
Someone who'll love you when you're laughing
make you laugh when the sun won't shine.
Boys, all those pretty girls
they are so hard to tell apart
Find the one who loves you
not for your truck, but for your heart.
Ain't nothing like a good woman
a good woman's hard to find
someone who'll love you when you're laughing,
make you laugh when the sun won't shine.
When I was a young girl, it was difficult to choose
lawyers, rich boys, mountain men
they all gave me the blues
Ain't nothin' like a good man...
Babe, something I should tell you,
I've been meaning for sometime
We've had our ups, we've had our downs
But, Lord, I'm glad you're mine.
Ain't nothin' like a good man...
